Believe and it will happen

Early in this year, during the lockdown, Toluna team asked us what do we want from this year, what are we looking forward to after lockdown ends. My only wish was to be able to go to Lithuania and see my family. It did not look very realistic then, and became even more unrealistic some time later, when the Governement told us to forget about foreign holidays until next year. But I thought it will happen for me somehow.

And here I am now - my wish came true, however unrealistic it seemed. See how it all happned. First, international travel was not alloved in Ireland. Second, there was a requirement to self isolate after travel (both in Lithuania and in Ireland), and this did not suit me at all. You see, I am able to go for 10 day max, so I'd have to spend all the time self-isolating, and under these circumstances, the trip makes no sense. Third, I can't get vaccinated, because my body reacts very badly to vaccines, so it means I can't get the conditions that vaccinated people get. So it did not look possible. But I believed I would be able to go to Lithuania to see my family and friends this summer.

And then everything happened so quickly. First, Irish Government allowed international travel. Around the same time, the requirement to self-isolate for people travellling from Ireland to Lithuania was ditched (and replaced by mandatory COVID test after 3-5 days after arriving to Lithuania). So I saw the window opening and grabbed the opportunity immediately. I even managed to get both COVID tests in Lithuania for free (this can change soon). And while I was on holidays, Ireland also ditched the requirement to self-isolate after arrival into Ireland and Covid test after 5 days if people wanted to finish self-isolation. See how everything changed in my favour? By the way, since Monday the 26th, unvaccinated people comming from Ireland to LIthuania have to self-isolate again, so I managed to jump through the window that was open for a very short time! All I can say believe and your wish will come true.
